Food
Self Catering
Our yoga guests often have specific diets, and so it would be difficult to offer a daily meal suitable for everyone. Consequently, we operate on a self-catering basis, so guests can cook according to their individual needs, and eat at times convenient to their daily schedules. It also means that they can enjoy eating out at the numerous local restaurants, as and when they wish.
Guests have the use of 3 spacious kitchens, each equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge and freezer.
Welcome Pack
We provide basic supplies for your arrival day... tea, coffee, milk, juice, bread, cheese, pâté, biscuits, honey, fruit and, of course, a bottle of wine!
Shopping
On Sunday morning, if you are without a car, we will take you to our nearest town, Le Mas d’Azil, so you can shop at the two supermarkets. On Wednesday morning, we will take you again, so you can explore and enjoy its weekly market.
Le Mas d'Azil, is only 5 miles away through an amazing natural grotto, and many of our guests also enjoy visiting it by bike. As well as supermarkets, it has a butcher, baker, patisserie, chemist, newsagent and a bank with cash machine. Both supermarkets have a section exclusive to organic produce (which the French call 'Bio' or 'Eco' produce)
There are also two restaurants, a cafe and a good pizzeria for take-away or dine-in.
Local Village Shops
Just a 10 minutes cycle away, you can buy delicious fruit pies from the renowned Croustardes de Clermont, baked daily in their traditional wood-fired oven. In the next village, Maury, there is a delicatessen specialising in delicious regional products.
Markets
These are most enjoyable, not only for the range of locally grown and reared produce, but also as a social gathering and meeting place. Market days for the nearest towns are
| Le Mas d'Azil | Wednesday morning |
| Le Bastide de Serou | Thursday morning |
| Foix | Friday morning |
| St. Girons | Saturday morning |
Eating Out
The traditional French 'Plât du Jour' or 'Menu du Jour', offered every weekday by most restaurants and cafes, must be one of the best value meals anywhere. A single course 'Plât du Jour' can cost just 7 Euros, and the 'Menu du Jour', a 3 course lunch, sometimes including wine and coffee, from as little as 9 Euros!
There are numerous good restaurants in the locality to choose from; smart town restaurants, mountain valley restaurants with terraces overhanging fast flowing rivers and tiny converted village farmhouses. We have sampled many of these and can advise.
